One of the most common questions I’m asked is what would people need energy healing for? Great question! To begin to answer, it’s imperative the concept of energy is understood.
Everything is energy. Matter, thoughts, ideas, beliefs, nature, feelings, objects…everything! Additionally, energy cannot be destroyed, it can only transform into something else.
The vibration of energy (measured by frequency) is what dictates your perceptions of and experiences with the form energy takes. In other words, it’s what it looks like to you. When something does not feel right for you- emotionally, physically, or spiritually- that is an alert your energy needs attention. To change that, you must shift the vibration of that energy. One of the most effective ways to shift that vibration is through energy healing.
Energy is transformed a few different ways through energy healing:
By neutralizing or releasing non-beneficial frequencies.
By adjusting a frequency to a more desirable frequency based on your desires and how it aligns with your original divine blueprint.
By breaking up stagnant or blocked energy so it can flow freely and healthfully.
Since everything is energy, everything you encounter has the potential to impact your energy in either a beneficial or non-beneficial way. Understanding your vibes and caring for them is incredibly beneficial for your mind, body, and spirit.
There are many different approaches to energy healing. It’s difficult to say one method is more effective than the next, so what’s most important is to find the techniques that work best for you. Everybody is different. There are things you can do yourself and things you might need support from an energy healer. In my book Vibe Higher, there are 20 tried and true activities you can do on your own to help you raise your vibration to experience more joy, wellness, and prosperity in your life.
Now that you have a better understanding of energy healing, let’s talk about how energy healing helps with limiting beliefs.
Removing Limiting Beliefs
Limiting beliefs keep you stuck and hinder your potential. Stuck where? Anywhere. Stuck in an unfulfilling relationship or stuck from finding a loving companion. Stuck in a miserable career when you know there’s something better for you out there. Stuck in financial struggle instead of having financial freedom.
And they keep you from shining your light. Just because you were meant to do or be something in this earthly experience doesn't automatically mean you will. Limiting beliefs can bog you down, keeping you from fully stepping into your power.
Whatever you believe to be true will help create your reality, even if those beliefs aren’t a universal truth. For example, maybe you believe the only way to be successful in life is to graduate from college and you either a) have not graduated from college, or b) have graduated from college and are struggling to make ends meet or are lacking happiness. This belief could hinder your success because maybe graduating from college isn’t what your success will be built on. Make sense? What if a belief more aligned with you was believing you would be successful doing what you love? Let’s do another example.
If you believe people with money are greedy and selfish, qualities you don’t appreciate in others, you might find it difficult to attract and receive money for yourself because you don’t want to be greedy or selfish. What if it was more helpful for you to believe people with money can be kind, loving, and generous?
We’re Not All the Same
Beneficial beliefs are not one size fits all. One of my favorite beliefs to negate was you have to work hard to be successful. So you have millions of people wandering around this world working hard so they can be successful when maybe they don’t have to work hard, because what if a more beneficial belief for them was something like success comes easy or they’re most successful when they work 20 hours a week. As I dive deeper and deeper into the inner workings of me, I’m finding over and over again that my key to success is hard work. Believing I don’t have to work hard to be successful is a limiting belief for me because it doesn’t align with me. A belief could be limiting for one person and beneficial for another. A belief is only limiting if it does not align with your original divine blueprint.
Transforming Limiting Beliefs
Another important fact about beliefs is they are very difficult to change. Beliefs are serious programming that dictate how you feel, how you act and react, and what you create and experience. Beliefs are typically formed by past experiences, past lives, religion, family, society, and education and are deeply rooted into every cell of your being. (Note: some beliefs are rooted in trauma. I will soon be writing about trauma and energy healing.) Recognizing you have limiting beliefs is helpful, but most often, just wanting to change your belief isn’t enough. That’s where energy healing comes in.
Energy healing can help identify and transform your limiting beliefs. How? The beliefs that are keeping you stuck are energy and that energy can be transformed into something better and more beneficial for you. Sure, you could spend weeks or months trying to convince yourself of a new belief, but energy healing is typically much quicker and more effective.
If you’re like me, you like to do as much as you can on your own before you ask for help. So for you, I’ve included some common limiting beliefs and an exercise to help you discover possible limiting beliefs.
Common Limiting Beliefs
This is not a comprehensive list by any means, however it will give you an idea of common limiting beliefs.
I am not good enough to __________.
Nothing is every easy for me.
Money is evil.
I am not worthy of being loved.
Trust no one.
It matters what other people think of me.
Everything goes downhill at age __________.
It’s desperate to ask for help.
I won’t be happy until __________.
Change is difficult.
Does this list trigger some beliefs you have that you are questioning if they are limiting or helpful to you?
Discover Your Limiting Beliefs
Do you have limiting beliefs holding you back? It can be difficult to identify which beliefs might be blocking you from optimal joy, wellness, and abundance, but this exercise can help you get started.
Think about an area of your life where you are either struggling or very much desire something better. Think about relationships, career, finances, your home, your health (physical, emotional, spiritual), your weight, your hobbies (or lack thereof), etc. What is really standing out in your mind?
Now think about the beliefs you have around this subject. Is it possible any of these beliefs are blocking you from experiencing what you truly desire? If so, what is true instead? What kinds of beliefs could help improve your situation?
You can keep doing this exercise as many times as you would like to help you identify your limiting beliefs. Work with an energy healer for support in transforming your limiting beliefs into something beneficial and in alignment with you.
