Seeing the same numbers frequently? It's no coincidence.
Several years ago I would constantly see the number “911”. It would be on receipts, I’d see it on TV, and mostly it seemed every time I saw the clock it was 9:11. Of course this scared me, right? 911 is an emergency number in the US, so I felt like it was an alert something was wrong. I remember even telling others how often I would see this number and people would say it was just because it was a familiar number I noticed it, but it didn’t have any meaning behind it.
For some reason, I decided to Google “meaning of the number 911”. I was completely fascinated with the search results: angel numbers. At that time, my only familiarity with angel numbers was with 1111 and 1234. It wasn’t because I thought of them as a way angels communicate with us, but rather a childhood game we played (and I still play) of making a wish when the clock reads these times.
Here’s what I learned about 911 in particular from Joanne Sacred Scribes (my favorite angel number decoding site):
“Angel Number 911 is a highly karmic and spiritual number that encourages you to pursue your life purpose and soul mission as a lightworker."
Around this time I had discovered the power of energy healing, also known as lightwork. In fact, I had already begun to build my lightworker tool box through various alternative wellness classes. At the time I was working at a university and thoroughly enjoyed my job, but before the angel messages, I was already feeling my purpose in life was outside of that career. Once I understood the meaning of 911 and took steps toward sharing my lightwork with others, the number stopped showing up. 911 did in fact have a very significant message for me.
See the Signs
Don’t disregard numbers you are seeing frequently as coincidence. They could very well be angel messages, and you need to hear them. Angels and the spiritual realm try to communicate with us by sending signs, we just need to be aware that is a possibility for us.
Here are other ways angels and spirits try to communicate with us:
Challenges/struggles – an alert to make a change, do something different, learn something new, grow
Pain/symptoms – an alert to address blocked energy and emotions or resolve non-beneficial beliefs or vows
Ears ringing – downloading information
Animals – animals have different spiritual meanings, you’ll know they have a message for you if you keep seeing them, they seem to be trying to get your attention (think bird running into your window, deer running toward your vehicle, insects won’t leave you alone) or you see an animal that seems to be out of place or rarely seen
Random objects seen frequently – a few months ago I kept seeing a random shoe in the road or sidewalk, just one and yes, it was a message
Other people – someone randomly speaks about something that completely resonates with your current situation
Music – hearing the melodies/lyrics at a moment you need it most
Nature – seeing, smelling, or feeling something unique while out in nature
Thoughts and Ideas – getting a random thought or idea that would be helpful or serve a beneficial purpose for you, your family, or society
What Happens When We Ignore the Messages
If we ignore the messages, angels and spirit will continue trying to communicate with us. In fact, they’re always trying to communicate with us to support us, but we are ultimately in control of the actions we take.
When we struggle or are unhealthy, we don’t magically resolve our situations or get healthier without doing anything, we need to take action. A really cool thing is that often times the struggle or health issue actually has a meaning behind it, so that can support us to determine what exactly we need to work on. For example, a cracked windshield on our vehicles might indicate it’s time for us to catch a clear vision for next steps in our life. Another example, it is well known anger is stored in the liver, so if we are having extreme anger issues we can look at the energy and health of the liver.
If you get messages for thoughts or ideas and don’t work on them, angels and spirit might decide to move on to the next person willing to do the work. Have you ever had a great idea, did nothing about it, and saw someone else somewhere in the world carrying out your idea? It is a gift to be asked to do spiritual work that benefits humanity, so if you are unwilling to do it, they will give it to someone else.
Moving Forward
Angels and spirit frequently send us messages, we just need to be aware that it is happening. If you’re unsure if something was a sign or not, just ask!
On a road trip I passed by a few pheasants. A few miles down the road, I saw a couple more. Pheasants were not uncommon in the area, but could it be a sign? So I asked, please show me another pheasant if they have a message for me. In moments I passed by several pheasants and didn't see anymore the rest of my trip. When I reached my destination, I checked my Animal Spirits book and the message absolutely resonated with me at that time. Wait, you don’t have an Animal Spirits book?? You need one!!
