CBD Oil

Updated: Nov 5, 2019

CBD has been making waves recently for its vast connections to improving wellness. It is derived from the hemp plant, does not contain any THC (no psychedelic effects), and is approved in all 50 states.

The Science

CBD works with your endocannabinoid system. The endocannabinoid system is as real and important as all the other systems we learned about in school. According to Dr. Dustin Sulak, the endocannabinoid system may be “the most important physiologic system involved in establishing and maintaining human health”. CBD stimulates the endocannabinoid system and is believed to promote homeostasis and reduce pain and inflammation (CBD Oil Review).

In the paper “The Endocannabinoid System as an Emerging Target of Pharmacotherapy”, (2006) the authors indicate controlling the endocannabinoid system holds promise for several different diseases. These include, but are not limited to:

· mood and anxiety disorders,

· movement disorders such as Parkinson’s and Huntington’s disease, neuropathic pain, multiple sclerosis and spinal cord injury,

· to cancer,

· atherosclerosis,

· myocardial infarction,

· stroke,

· hypertension,

· glaucoma,

· obesity/metabolic syndrome,

· and osteoporosis, to name just a few.

In summary, science is proving the importance of the endocannabinoid system and we know CBD interacts with that system.

CBD Products

CBD is available in different forms, from tinctures (drops taken internally) to creams to candies. CBD is usually consumed as a supplement, meaning it can be used as part of a daily wellness regimen. Tinctures may be taken orally or mixed in with food and beverages. Creams can be applied topically on areas of the body needing isolated attention. People often use a combination of CBD products for their various wellness goals. I personally use a CBD tincture orally and use a CBD cream when needed.

Just like any supplement, some people might notice a difference immediately and others might need a period of time for their bodies to acclimate to the supplement. CBD products are safe and easy to use.

I waited to use CBD products until I found a company I could trust. 406 CBD is a Montana-based company operated by herbalists and wellness gurus committed to providing supreme CBD products. Browse the Just Be shop to find high quality CBD products to support your wellness goals.
