Are Past Relationships Holding You Back?
Updated: Feb 20
It's February, the time of year where everything is red, pink, white, hearts, flowers, and candy. Love is in the air, right? Well, not for everyone. This time of year can actually be difficult for many people, especially those who have been very hurt in relationships. More specifically, those who have been very hurt in past relationships AND still carrying the burden from those hurts.
This is a real issue so many people face. How could you possibly forget the time your partner cheated on you? How do you recover from a manipulative romantic partner who diminished your self-worth? Relationship issues aren't only reserved for romantic partners either: friends, families, and co-workers can also have a negative impact on your future. How do you fully recover from the time your friend betrayed you? What kind of long-term effects will you experience because of parents who never showed up for you? How are you supposed to conduct yourself in the workplace when someone is always out trying to get you?
We form our beliefs and expectations around our experiences. If we have been so hurt in the past, of course we will make decisions based on those experiences. Sometimes we might not even be aware how detrimental a past relationship could be on our present and future. We might continue to attract the same type of people into our lives. We might create barriers to keep people out because we expect people to hurt us. We might get to a point where we just don't trust people anymore. We are hard on ourselves for getting into situations where someone lets us down or hurts us again. It can be a vicious cycle.
But here's the thing: how do we move forward and experience something better if we are always looking back? Sometimes wanting to move forward or wanting to heal isn't enough. Sometimes talking about it over and over again just keeps the issues alive and well. What if I told you the beliefs and expectations you have in relationships were just energy and you can do something about it? They truly are.
Energy can be shifted and changed, just like our beliefs and expectations. Energy healing can help clear out the "gunk" from these past relationships and past hurts that are no longer benefiting you. They can even help you clear out issues in your current relationships. Energy healing can help you let go and move forward so you can experience something more loving and joyful in your current or future relationships.
Relationship issues can often be tied back to energetic cords. Energetic cords are attachments between a person and something else, like another person, an animal, a place, even a feeling. Typically they are unseen, and mostly unnoticeable until you become aware of what is happening. Energetic cords allow us to sync up with what it is attached to. For example, you could still be energetically attached to an ex, a previous home, a place you’ve visited, or a traumatic experience and not even realize it. Similarly, you could have energetic cords with loved ones, people or places you admire, and fond memories.
Energetic cords can be beneficial or non-beneficial. If you are repeating the same relationship patterns, attracting similar negative relationships into your life, a cord cutting would be very beneficial for you. These experiences would indicate a non-beneficial cord attachment that can be addressed energetically.
You Are Loved
What is most important to know is that you are loved. We all are. We are all deserving of loving relationships no matter where we are or who we are with. Energy healing is a very effective way to release past relationship gunk to help you move forward. It is very common for people to need that residual energy from past hurts to be released. You are not weird and you are not alone.
